Developed specifically for the Department of Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise at Virginia Tech, this blog offers updates on relevant research and information resources. The goal of this blog is to serve HNFE by delivering frequent and timely information to help the department accomplish its mission of delivering, translating, and disseminating health-related advances in nutrition, food, and exercise sciences. The exploration of issues impacting academic libraries has emerged as a secondary goal of this blog; use the tag library issues to read my thoughts on these issues that also impact library users.
In addition to delivering information related to library services, resources, and news, this blog features posts that fit into several distinct categories: Frequently Asked Reference Questions (and answers!), Expert Research Advice, Culinary History Highlights, Tutorials, and New Books (monthly). Use the tags on the right hand side of this blog to find posts within these categories.
Subscribe to this blog's RSS feed (upper left hand corner of the blog) for news from the library, updates from the field, expert research tips, and more! The easiest way to receive updates from this or any other blog is to use a feed reader. My favorite, and the one that I use, is Google Reader, but there are many options--all listed on the Guide to RSS that can be found on the University Libraries website.
The views represented on this blog are solely mine, as is the content of the blog, unless otherwise stated. This content does not necessarily reflect the views of University Libraries or Virginia Tech, but does strive to uphold Virginia Tech's mission to "invent the future."
